I Tested L’Oréal Paris EverPure Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner

Disclaimer: I received these products for free to test and review honestly as part of Influenster’s L’Oréal Paris EverPure VoxBox.

Let me preface this review by saying that I’m not someone who is usually willing to spend more than $15 on a bottle of shampoo (that is to say, something you can pick up at your local Target), so at around $10 each, L’Oréal Paris EverPure Blonde shampoo and conditioner are exactly around the price point I usually look for. That also means that when testing this product, my frame of reference is limited to drugstore brands rather than any sort of luxury products.

Thanks, Influenster and L’Oréal Paris!

The L’Oréal Paris Ever line of products includes sulfate-free, salt-free, and 100% vegan haircare–from shampoo and conditioner to oils and serums. There’s a product for nearly every hair type, need, or concern and doesn’t cost more than $10.

That said, my needs are fairly simple when it comes to shampoo and conditioner; I want nice-smelling products that effectively clean my colored-treated blonde hair while keeping it healthy and smooth.

Isn’t the packaging pretty?

The EverPure Blonde shampoo is, for lack of another descriptor, a perfectly fine shampoo. It does exactly what a shampoo should do – cleans my hair, makes it smell nice, etc. Other than the fact that it’s sulfate-free, I don’t have anything to rave about, but, then I don’t know if I’ve ever raved about any shampoo. It works well and for that reason alone, I’d continue to use it.

The smell is subtle, floral and a little musky. This is a big change for me because I gravitate toward sweet, fruity scents – but I’ve used the EverPure shampoo and conditioner for about three washes now and the smell is very steadily growing on me. And I’m very picky about how my products smell.

That said, I love, love, love that this product helps to neutralize brassiness. My cool-blonde hair desperately wants to go brassy and warm, and I normally use my Evo Fabuloso Platinum Blonde purple conditioner every three washes or so to combat it (which is probably more than necessary). I plan to continue use of the EverPure shampoo and conditioner, however, so I think I’d be able to make use of my Evo conditioner down to once a week at most, if not less, which saves me product and money!

Left to right, conditioner and shampoo.

I was pleasantly surprised by the thickness of the EverPure conditioner (see the dollop on the left in the above image). The directions recommend working through hair and leaving to sit for 2-3 minutes, almost more like a deep conditioner. When I rinse, my hair feels soft and smooth but not product-laden. Which is lovely because it feels like I’m doing something good for my hair with every wash!

Overall, I’m very happy with the L’Oréal Paris EverPure Blonde shampoo and conditioner. These are great products at a fantastic price point that are effective and healthy and help to tone and brighten blonde hair. As someone who both colors her hair and loves a bargain, I’m onboard!
